I've been playing with this code ALL day, and have managed to figure most of my issues out so far by searching these forums. However, I am currently baffled by this issue:
The base url for the Vote button and the View Results links are not pointing to the correct directory, so I get a 404 Page Not Found when I click them.
I'm using Version 2.03 (at least I assume it's 2.03 - I downloaded it this morning), textfile based. I've changed the General Settings to show that my poll code is installed in http://starwarschicks.com/polls/ I have configured a custom template, but have set it back to the "default" template (unaltered) and am still having the issue with the wrong URLs.
The poll is displayed on this page (work in progress!): http://www.starwarschicks.com/redesign/newindex.shtml
If someone could help me out, I'd be much appreciative!

Now that I've upgraded my guestbook, all of my e-mail addresses display "username[at]yahoo[dot]com". This is fine.. But what I'd love to do is to replace the "[at]" and the "[dot]" with graphics. (this way the e-mail addresses will LOOK normal, and still be secured from e-mail miners.. Is there an easy way to do this??

They are viewable in the admin panel and viewable on a web page.
Have a look at the demo polls on this site under free scripts -> adv. poll -> demo
I'm looking for the comments in the admin panel and I can't find them!! Where can I read them?
Thanks!

Hello Guys.
I have installed Advanced Guestbook on my HTTP server and dropped it in a folder called guestbook. I have changed the CHMOD for Public and Temp to 777 and I have created an SQL database called db22 and run the guestbook.sql config and it has created all the tables in the Database.
I have modified the file in /admin/ to include my DB Name, Username & Password and also set my domain name up and the location of the guestbook in this file.
When i go to http://www.simtronic.com.au/guestbook/ it is coming up with a blank white page and when i try to run install.php it shows the first page but once i enter in my SQL user and pass and a DB name and click create DB it just comes up with a blank white page too?
Can anyone tell me if this is a PHP issue or have i done something wrong? I have put a file in http://www.simtronic.com.au/test.php to see if PHP is working and it looks like it is
HELP!!!!

I have discovered the files on the server in the advancedpoll folder - duh! I hear you say.
Where do I enter the choices for the poll?

I guess what I'm after is some step-by-step instructions on how to use Advanced Poll. Is there such a thing? The help files I got with the install files dont' really tell me anything.

I feel quite silly asking this, but I don't know how to begin to create a poll. I have Advanced Poll installed, and so I see the scripts of the demos, but I dont' know what to do with them. Do I insert them on a new page that I've created with, say, Dreamweaver, or ....?
I'm sure once I begin, I'll figure out how to customize it, I just don't know how to begin

Honestly, I don't remember where I got the script from. It was a guestbook I never used, it was for testing. I've recently moved it to a new server to use it, because of the color scheme I made for it.
Thank you for your help!

Just thought you might be interested in this. Lots of interesting information on how sites are XSS hacked and cookies are being stolen.

Is any of this a problem with the Guestbook? It seems that Forums and CMS's are being attacked.

Thank you for your reply! I looked for that in the config file and that entry is not listed.
I am running version 2.3.1 and it doesn't have that code in the config file. I have the files for version 2.3.2, and it does have that code in the config file, I think I'll do an upgrade.
How do I upgrade from version 2.3.1 to version 2.3.2?

I've tried to compare the commands in v2.2 vs 1.5 to make the changes, but they seem very different.
Is it something someone could have a look at and advise ?
I've come to learn to know what I don't know and this is one of those moments.
Thanks
Peter

Sorry for the sample link, I didn't know it actually existed.
When I go to just the guestbook/ directory, I get this for the properties of the image: http://img/gbook1.gif
If I go to the guestbook/index.php page directly, I get this for the properties of the image: http://www.samplesite.com/img/gbook1.gif
Thanks in advance for your help!
Confused

I am really confused....
If I go to ---> http://www.mysitename.com/guestbook/
the images won't show up at all.
But, if I go to ---> http://www.mysitename.com/guestbook/index.php
the images show up.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Is it in the guestbook settings somewhere, or is it on the server side?
Thanks!

he really needs to rewrite his install script.
I read that, I don't have a guestbook directory or an admin directory or file?
